Borehole Water Sampling

Borehole water sampling is used when you want to know the characteristics of the rock groundwater. Sampling can be targeted, for example, to a known structure at a desired depth, up to a kilometer. Sampling depths can be determined, for example, based on flow or packer measurement data and results. The service includes sampling, sample processing and delivery to the laboratory of the customer's choice, and reporting of the results if necessary.

Method

The method is a fast, inexpensive and widely used method for water sampling, because samples can be taken from several different depths with quick lifts.

The probe is lowered into the borehole to the desired depth. After this, the valve of the sampling tank is opened and the tank is allowed to fill, after which the tank is closed. Either a 1 or 2 liter water tank can be attached to the probe for basic sampling. Smaller sampling tanks with their own valves and seals are also available for more challenging sampling.

Water sampling can also be carried out in such a way that the gases are stored and delivered to the laboratory.
